Witte tot lichtgrijze vloeibare pasta, thermoplastisch.Het is onstabiel bij verhitting, verkleurt bij hoge temperaturen (240°C) en verliest zijn oorspronkelijke fysische en chemische eigenschappen.Voor producten van commerciële kwaliteit moet de viscositeit worden gespecificeerd.De relatieve dichtheid is 1,07 ~ 1,18, de brekingsindex is 1,47 en het verwekingspunt is 100 ~ 130 ℃.Het kan een taaie film vormen en toch zijn flexibiliteit behouden bij lage temperaturen.Kan gemengd worden met hars, was, olie etc. Stabiel tegen alkaliën en verdunde zuren.Het verwekingspunt en de hygroscopiciteit namen af met de toename van het ethoxygehalte.
