Wat is propyleenglycol met CAS-code 57-55-6?

Propyleenglycol wordt gebruikt als antivriesmiddel in brouwerijen en zuivelbedrijven, bij de productie van harsen, als oplosmiddel en als emulgator in levensmiddelen. Het was aanwezig als beroepsmatige sensibilisator in de kleurenfilmontwikkelaar Flexicolor.

Sollicitatie

1. Bevochtigingsmiddel en smaakoplosmiddel, een polyhydrische alcohol (polyol). Het is een heldere, stroperige vloeistof die volledig oplosbaar is in water bij 20 °C en een goed oplossend vermogen heeft in olie.

2. Glycerol en sorbitol worden gebruikt als bevochtigingsmiddelen om het gewenste vochtgehalte en de gewenste textuur te behouden in voedingsmiddelen zoals geraspte kokos en glazuur.

3. Oplosmiddel voor aroma's en kleurstoffen die niet in water oplosbaar zijn. Het wordt ook gebruikt in dranken en snoep.
