Muggenafweermiddel, ook bekend als butylacetylaminopropionaatethylester, BAAPE, IR3535, Imenine, is een weekmaker, maar ook een breedspectrum, zeer effectief afweermiddel voor insecten met een lage toxiciteit.

Muggenwerend middel wordt vaak gebruikt in cosmetica en farmaceutische producten. Het kan worden verwerkt tot een oplossing, emulsie, zalf, coating, gelei, aerosol, muggenwerende wierook, microcapsules en andere speciale afweermiddelen. Het kan ook worden toegevoegd aan andere producten of materialen (zoals toiletwater, muggenwerend water, enz.) om het zowel muggenwerend als afstotend te maken.
