Cocamidopropylhydroxysultaïne is een zwitterionische oppervlakteactieve stof met uitstekende stabiliteit onder zure en alkalische omstandigheden, met respectievelijk kationische en anionische eigenschappen. CHSB is niet-toxisch, minder irriterend, gemakkelijk oplosbaar in water, bestand tegen zuur en alkali, schuimt beter, heeft een sterke reinigende werking en heeft een uitstekende verdikking, zachtheid, bacteriedodend, antistatisch en bestand tegen hard water. Kan de verzachtende, conditionerende en lagetemperatuurstabiliteit van wasproducten aanzienlijk verbeteren.

Cocamidopropylhydroxysultaine wordt veel gebruikt in shampoos en douchegels van gemiddelde en hoge kwaliteit. Cocamidopropylhydroxysultaine is het hoofdingrediënt bij de bereiding van milde babyshampoos, babyschuimbaden en huidverzorgingsproducten voor baby's. Cocamidopropylhydroxysultaine is een uitstekende verzachtende conditioner in haar- en huidverzorgingsproducten. Het kan ook worden gebruikt als reinigingsmiddel, bevochtigingsmiddel, verdikkingsmiddel, antistatisch middel en bactericide, enz.
